: : Dear Courier Editors,
: : Just last week I asked The Bee Holder if any of his Swarm would be willin' to do some trackin' for me to find out what connection one Thomas Hutter (a former dastardly acquaintance of Deerslayer) had with a certain Captain Kidd. Well, afore ye could say "pusillanimous pirate", Cara Bee Ann buzzed away down to Madagascar and back and brought me some startlin' news! A raft o' pirates was down there on semester break, partyin' hard on a Madagascar rum punch well-knowed among 'em as "bumboe". Now, correct me iffn I'm wrong, but don't that name sorta ring a bell?

: Yo She....
: Iff'n thar was a Japan, that'd sound real Japanese.
: I suspecianed thar was somethin' outtin' the ordinary 'bout old man Hutter what with him buildin' his castle right smack dab in the middle of a lake. He did seem to know a bit 'bout boats and the sea. Capt'n Kidd, you say. Recon thar's any buried treasure?

Hi thar, Old Crone!
Now thar's an interestin' idee - buried treasure! Come to think of it, Kidd was said to have split up his last pile o' loot among his fri'nds for buryin' afore he got drug to Merry Auld England to have his neck stretched. Now, Thomas Hutter said he built that castle on the shoal for safety's sake, but supposin' he jest buried his part o' the loot and then built his cabin on top of it?
Seems like we got a little time on our hands afore we go to The Gatherin', so what say you and me and maybe Jereboam get in a canoe and mosey subtle-like out to the Glimmerglass and dig around a bit? We can jest slip out the Northern Sallyport afore dawn, and as long as we're real quiet about it, won't anybody even know where we're goin'.
