Old Crone, yer doin' jest fine this mornin' with the paddlin'. Howsever, I'm consarned about them noises ye been hearin'. Could be a bear or mebbe a deer in the woods close to the riverbank. Per'aps we should slide the canoe a little closer to them bushes over there and think about baggin' us a bit o' dinner. I'll jest look to my primin' here, and you try headin' the canoe thataway - - no THATaway - - NO CONSARN IT! TOWARD the bank! There, that's better. By the way, careful not to lean on that little bee that's been ridin' along on the sack o' parched corn. Can't figger where we picked up a bee in the middle o' the river.
