: I forgot to add:

: As children of the "Me"decade (the infamous 70's), I sadly think that we as parents have made too many mistakes, incorporating all of our "high" philosophies gleaned from that decade, into the raising of our children. Somehow our ideas of leniency and "child centeredness" ended up in many families as overindulgence promoting spoiled brats and children with no sense of discipline, accountedness or morality. This coupled with our " very busy" lifestyles leads many parents to just " throw in the towel" and attend to our "busyness", finding more importance in TV, work, shopping, computors, etc. than to sit down and have an "eye to eye contact" talk with our children. How many parents do we know that still sit down and have regular meals together as a family?

: We are all too busy to bring up our children properly! the children are bringing up themselves in many cases and then they fill their time with all the wrong messages found in the media of today. They are victims of a lack of love which turns to anger which turns to violence- then the messages they find in music, films, TV, video games, is only the fuel for this violence.

: We keep talking about guns and how they are to blame, I believe we, as parents and adults should look also at ourselves and the choices we make, and the examples we set for our children, what kind of messages are we sending to them?
