Hi, my name is Chris Randall, formerly of Morganton, NC now living in Richmond VA. I spent the summer of '91 as an extra (British and French soldier) in LOTM. I got to train with Capt. Dye and Dale.....Can't remember the other guys name, he was in charge of the reinactors for a day at the firecamp in Asheville. We spent the next day filming the scene where Duncan makes his entrance in to "Albany", I was one of the faceless mass marching up the hill. That afternoon we spent a soggy few hours in the rain at the Biltmore Estate filming second Unit stuff that did not make the final cut. I was not choosen to go throught the weeks worth of addition training at Asheville but two of my friends were, so I stuck with them at the set and got in the good scenes, none of which made the cut either :(. My .15 seconds of screen time came during the British evacuation of the Fort, I was "French guy #152" on the side of the road. Also the dramatic death scene in "massacre valley" what was to get me "discovered" was trod under the editors foot too, funny how fate works. I will always remember the filming fondly although it was miserably hot during most of the day shoots and damp at night. One thing I learned from the experience that I will take with me always is that you do not have to be comfortable to sleep. I napped in some very odd spots. including under a truck that drove off with me still under it. :) Are there any more extras out here in cyberspace that can lend a filming story or two?
