: : Is there anything to report on the hoped-for director's cut of Last Of The Mohicans?

: Just rumors, rumors, rumors ... to tell you the truth, we've been too busy to pursue that right now. We did what we could!

: Might be a good time for everyone to re-visit the DC drive page & send Fox another electronic message! (IF that link is still functional!) With them recalling the props from CRP, maybe something's in the works????

I'd have to believe that the best hope for a new release/director's cut of LOTM would be for Fox to release the movie on DVD. Bonus materials, such as deleted scenes, cast and crew bios, making of material, etc are common fair on most DVD's, as some of you may know.

LOTM would be amazing on DVD; with DVD's Dolby Digital 5.1 sound and the amazing video quality DVD delivers, even without any director's cut/bonus material. DVD's also typically have both the widescreen (aka letterboxed, with the black bars across top and bottom) and full-screen (aka pan-and-scan) versions, so you can choose whichever you prefer.

The sad thing is that Fox SUCKS when it comes to DVD support. They do appear to be improving, but traditionally they have lagged pretty far behind every studio other than Disney (who really wanted the pay-per-view alternative, DIVX, to succeed over DVD. Can you imagine paying $4 each time your kids wanted to watched Beauty and the Beast?).

So, when contacting Fox, please put in a plug for LOTM on DVD!!!!!!!!!!!!
