Hmmmm, let's see...this time next Saturday, I will be making all the final packing preparations for my great trek northward to Chimney Rock Park. Yippeeeeee! It's almost upon us!
Just a quick reminder or two: if you have any questions about the Gathering at all, be sure to email me or Rich & Elaine. We'll be glad to help any way we can. And........if you want to be assured of getting a ticket for Eric's mask raffle, send your check in right away. No time to lose! I have gotten a couple of emails about this, so I think it bears repeating. The odds of your being the winner of this mask are terrific! One in 70 if every ticket sells. You do not have to be present to win. If you are present, you will have a photo op like no other, getting your picture taken with Eric, himself, and the mask. If you are NOT present, we will take a picture of Eric, with the mask, and ask him to sign it for you. The mask will be shipped to you, and you will have a wonderful consolation prize for not being able to make the Gathering this time around. Buy those tickets. Not only for yourself, but to show Eric how much his fans support his latest artistic endeavors. He is a very gifted wood carver, and YOUR support can go a long way towards letting him know you understand and appreciate his art. Do not send the check to me, though...make it out in the amount of $50 & send to Mohican Press, P. O. Box 123, Marian, NC 28752. And remember, the raffle ticket, itself, is a work of art, having a photo of the mask printed on it. A keepsake, too!
I was just thinking how wonderful it would be to see this annual event continue to grow, and to attract interesting guests each year. Nothing would help THAT goal more than a real show of appreciation for Eric's appearance *this* year. Word does get out, after all. Perhaps we can invite others (Wes Studi comes to mind right off the bat!) for future Gatherings, and knowing how well Eric was received MIGHT go a long way towards convincing them to accept our invitations. Just something to ponder.
At any rate, THIS year's event is right around the corner, and I, for one, CANNOT wait! And for those of you who couldn't come this year, I promise to take lots and lots of pictures (especially of our GUEST!) to share with you. You will be missed, believe me!
