: : Where were you guys when the filming of LOTM was going on? It was pretty close to where you live, no? You've probably written about it somewhere on the Site, but I get lost and find myself wandering all over the place!

: Hi Cyn,

: Hope this link on the bottom will help you out a bit....

Thanks for posting the link, Rebecca. I think you know our site ALMOST as well as we do! "From The Mohican's Land To Mohicanland" pretty much makes the connection from place to place and writing it was somewhat a nostalgic journey unto itself for us.

Cyn, we lived in NY's Hudson Valley, which is the original Mohican homelands, at the time of the filming. Lots of Algonquian history all about us ... and what a gorgeous country!
We were down in Rutherford County, NC for a couple of weeks (not far from Chimney Rock Park) in September '91, though we didn't give too much notice to the filming at the time other than being thrilled to hear someone was making a film adaptation of LOTM ... something I had waited a LONG time to see.

We moved down in November '91 but still didn't pay all that much attention to the backyard shoot that DDL & MS returned for the following August. It wasn't until seeing the film itself that any interest was generated regarding the locations. It was the beautiful scenery that inspired Rich to go off camera hunting.

We created the web site in '97 ... and here we all are! Who woulda thunk?!!!

Any chance of you joining us for Sunday's Chimney Rock Park advencha, Cyn??????? You'd have a really great time!!!!
