: And siyo to you, Champ. To answer your question, the family clan is Anderson. I also have Cherokee ancestry - I'm a whopping 1/16 which is the minimum one can officially claim (or so I've been told). A gentleman at Cherokee Res. told me that since the casino business started all applications are being denied; they were swamped with apps. as everyone wanted to be Cherokee (I guess to claim rights to the business). I don't know if this is true. Maybe someone out there knows and can clue me in.
>>> Hi Jayne,
Yes, this is true. Lots of people make bogus claims of Cherokee ancestry & the casino biz has been a hot motivator. Ever notice how many "grandmothers" were "Cherokee princesses"???
To be enrolled, you must be able to prove a relation to one who is listed on the Dawes Roll & even if this is met, one must be 18 or under even to be considered for enrollment currently. There are so many claims and application requests.
: Today's picture of the river walk reminded me of Hawkeye's snide comment to Duncan about how to go west. Great line.
>>> You mean the SUBTLE line?
