: I live close to the sites of Prophetstown and Battle of Tippecanoe. If Tecumseh had been successful in uniting the tribes. . .? Would like to read some historians' opinions.

Would love to visit those two sites someday. Are they, in any way, preserved?

As to your interesting question ... I have thought about that very thing often. Of course, there is no way to know for certain what might have been. I have always thought, though, that had things gone according to Tecumseh's plan, the situation might have very much resembled that of the Civil War. Like the Southern Confederacy, the Indian Confederacy was outmanned & outsupplied. Their main hope would have been in the chance that the US would have tired of war. Even that, at that point in history, would have been a temporary halt of Manifest Destiny, at best.

NOW, if Tecumseh had lived earlier, like maybe 150-200 years earlier ... maybe, JUST maybe, the encroachment would have been stopped for a significant period. Then, who knows what might have been?!?
