If you'uns are planning on leaving something in the corn crib for Mr Girty there, he would probably rather it be in a jug if made of corn - not on a plate. Seems to me, paging through my records here, he likes his corn likker.

Sir Willum, Sherrif of Rottingham

: My Dear Mr. Girty,

: Please accept my humble apologies for taking so long to answer your note. I'm actually quite glad to hear you will soon be skulking about our fine community again...every town needs a ne'er-do-well, don't they? And when I inquired if you do well, everyone replied "Ne'er!" so I guess you're it!

: My delay in responding was merely due to my acute attack of Post Gathering Blues, a dreadful malady, indeed, which attacks those who journey to the far reaches of Mohicanland and frolic in the mountain streams and waterfalls for 3 days and a bit, then are forced to return to the more mundanely routine existence of every day life! *heavy sigh here* I AM beginning to pull out of my sad state, with the help of 4 1/2 pounds of my DownHome Fuu-uuuudge and 6 gallons of Can-Tuck-EE Mint Julep! (Hey, whatever works, doncha know!)

: I should be back in the kitchen tonight, a-cookin' and a-grinnin', and I'll fix you up a plate of somethin' tasty & leave it in the corn crib for your enjoyment. Happy maraudin' and thievin' to ye, Sir!

: Yours Most Graciously,
: Miss Marcia
