: The British are definitely coming. Lord Cornwallis� soldiers imposed military law when they occupied Williamsburg before the Battle of Yorktown in 1781. For two days, 218 years later, military re-enactors will come from all over the country to encamp on Market Square, set up military checkpoints, conduct courts-martial and patrol the city. Make sure you know the password.***

: A Town Unchained: The Continental Army Encamps at Williamsburg

: In 1781, Continental troops under the Marquis de Lafayette marched into Williamsburg to relieve the citizens of British military law. Military re-enactors from around the entire country will re-create the army�s arrival and impact on the town. ***

: I am in hopes, in the next couple years, to bring out  "Capt. MacKay's Highland Coy of the Queen's Rangers" to participate, as they were posted there at that time.
