: : Are there any plans for future Leathersocking films? I beleive they could all be made by a talented filmaker and given today's interest in reenacting make money if done well.

: I bought what appears to be a pilot for a TV series called "Hawkeye", cpoyright 1994. Probably just some TV producer trying to make money off the greatest film of all time! It stars Lee Horsley as Hawkeye, Lynda Carter (who my wife had to point out to me as Wonder Woman) as a female lead named Elizabeth, and Rodney A. Grant as Chingachcook. The costumes were highly inferior, the acting was reminiscent of today's "Hercules" series (i.e. not good), and this episode, entitled "the Siege," was based on the French invention of a 32-pound cannon! Naturally I was glad that I didn't pay any more that $1.50 for the tape, but the idea for a LOTM sequel or series, or mini-series wouldn't be too bad, IF the right people were involved, such as they were in "Legends of the Old Northwest."

________

Parker,
My sister Mary probably watched every single one of these shows; probably what got her off on the wrong foot as far as LOTM goes; but as those who have met my sister Mary; there's no explaining her taste in anything!!!! At least this year she finally broke down and bought the movie LOTM...
I never watched more than 10 minutes of that series as I can't get past Ms. Wonder Woman....but Mary filled me in whether I liked it or not! (She's hard to ignore.)
A mini-series based on the tales would be interesting; however, after slogging through 9/10's of one of Cooper's books; (I'm afraid to try the rest...)(I'm moving fast and ducking, Gayle!!) I would not know how one could make a fast paced, exciting 1999 type of series out of it! Even Marcia raffled her LOTM book; smart move!
No, seriously, an interesting idea; but who would play the roles.....??? Another subject we've dealt with a few times..always an interesting one, also.
There was also a PBS Hawkeye thing years and years ago my hubby remembers, but never have found much info on that one.

Jo
