: : : :All that skin!!! blush blush. This isn't a game for prudes to watch, I can assure you! The loincloths -- they, well, they sort of, umm, they, er ... nevermind, I won't go there.

: : : Modesty, no, but the loincloth is most certainly a superior garment when it comes to comfort and mobility. I have played (rather, attempted to play) Lacrosse wearing modern pants, and it is just not the same, for either the players or the spectators.

: I know this is a far cry from "A celtic moment" but we do wander, don't we?

: Seriously, though, as I said to someone else in private email:

: While I never took lacrosse seriously in college, I really enjoyed watching this game at the Ticonderoga encampment. You know why? Because they were having so much fun!! It was hysterically funny to watch, and while they played seriously, they really were having a great time, with the game and with themselves. Sometimes when I think about Eric Schweig, I think about the extraordinary smile and laughter on his face during the lacrosse game -- the only time in any of his films I've seen it like that, and it comes close to the smiley picture on the site with Eric's new mask. If you haven't seen that lacrosse scene closely in the movie, do it in slow motion. You'll see DDL wrap his arm around Eric as they chase the ball and both of them honestly laughing hard. It's really wonderful to watch.

: That's the kind of game I saw at Ticonderoga, and that which I missed watching competitive lacrosse. The people in the Ticonderoga encampment take their "reenactment" very seriously and become the people they are playing, which I think (since they aren't professional actorss or anything) means they must still be the people they are playing. So why shouldn't they take their Indian lacrosse seriously with the right touch of fun? I felt privileged to be able to be there and watch it, because technically I was an outsider.

: Loincloths aside (only in my dreams :>) ), that lacrosse game was really great to watch and very educational! It seems, Caitlin, you would might have seen similar and would say the same?
