In reading Sarah's paragraph you quoted, I see several outstanding qualities, myself. Diana had many human failings, but to say she had NO outstanding attributes is incredibly harsh, to my mind. She worked diligently for many causes and lent her support everywhere she thought she could do some good. She visited dying children, worked tirelessly in the campaign against those wretched land mines, donated many hours to other charities, and was loved by hundreds whose lives she touched. I don't think "glitz envy" enters into much of that. And I think those are all outstanding qualities, including the fact that she battled her own demons in her personal life, and wasn't afraid to admit to them.

Granted, there are many people who live lives every bit as unselfish and do good works daily...but as I said before, we are not always aware of these people, and we cannot grieve for those tragedies we are unaware of.
