My Dear Miss Marcia,

I ran into She Who Tracks a few minutes ago, and she passed along the information that you are going to have one of your famous get-togethers. It has been too long, my dear, since we all had a quiet afternoon on your hospitable veranda, and I look forward to brushing up on all the gossip- er- news

By the way, would you mind if I brought along a small stray kitten that wandered into the library this afternoon? She is obviously in need of a home, and since I really can't keep her (allergies, you know) I thought maybe you would take her in until we can find her a good home.
