Gayle, I'm not sure Cora saw anything untoward in Duncan when she hesitates at tea on the lawn. I think it is simply a matter of her not being in love with him. That's why Duncan pleads his case by saying start with friendship and in time "all else will grow." She has heard the same from her father & the mysteriouis Cousin Eugenie, but she doubts it to be true, and obviously hopes to meet a man she will fall completely in love with. Little does she know, eh?

As for the SW interview...GO FOR IT, Mohican Press! There should be a way to track him down! He'd be delightful, I'll bet.
