: Yes, I was looking forward to seeing it again. Two years ago, this is where I first noticed Michael Greyeyes and what a fascinating actor he is, and certainly not only because of his looks. (Okay, okay, they don't exactly hurt.... :-))
: Well, last night I was frantically trying to call my mother-in-law to let her know that movie was on, couldn't find her new number, and missed taping the beginning. About half way into the movie, my dear husband joined me on the sofa and started making fun of the movie. Yeah, yeah, I know how many scenes are totally cheesy. And Janine Turner looks so misplaced in the wilderness, always fresh, rosy lipstick and perfectly styled, aside of the evenly brown dirt smudges on her cheeks to indicate a long ride. And where she meets Custer with those ashes on her face, pushing her chin forward the way Indians were supposed to look in the 50s, that was hilarious. But who cares! Already the topic was a first (in my memory), a white woman who stays and yet doesn't have to die.
: So what, that my husband said "And you think Godzilla movies are ridiculous??" Men! What do they know about romance movies? Of course he still had to tease "Who would have wanted a white woman in those days?? They couldn't do ANYTHING!" Grinned and left, so I could finally watch in peace...
: By the way, the actor who plays the young boy might be the brother of the actor who played Victor as a child in Smoke Signals. My daughter and I first noticed the similarity between the two, then we saw that they have the same last name, William and Cody Lightning.
Your hubby and mine ought to get together....IF mine were to sit down and watch this movie; I'd have no peace what so ever! Luckily, he has seen LOTM too many times and flees the room when I watch it.
