: Wow, now that gives the event a totally different aspect, if he is going to face that issue heads on in a press conference!  Then I'm definitely putting that on my calendar, maybe I can take off work a little earlier to drive up there.  Any idea what time it will be?  I've got to ask around here, friends and family might be interested too.  By the way, just a month ago we visited Wounded Knee, saw the destroyed church that Russell Means describes in his book as their stronghold during the events in '73 and also came through Whiteclay days after the protests there. 

: I just went to his page and read his response to the sovereignty issue (link below for those who haven't seen it yet), interesting!  I'm curious to research what he says about the Navajo Nation's Treaty, whether it explicitly denies jurisdiction over non-member Indians.  Also,  what he says about Chief Justice Yazzie's initial excuse, that's interesting to say the least, and I'm curious to find out what responses to that allegation can be found on the web.  From what I've heard so far, Justice Yazzie has an excellent reputation.  Will also have to keep reading what's on Russell Means' page.
