My Dear Mr. R,

Goodness me, but I've been busy these last few days, a-bakin', an' a-boilin', an' a-stirrin', an' a-fryin', and just generally tryin' to keep the vittles a-cookin' in my DownHome Kitchen. So sorry not to have been more sociable, but sometimes a body's just got to get some work done, doncha know. And thanks everso for the offer of that there coumadin, but my E-vile twin sister, Sassy, has brought me over a whole fistful of spotted cowbane leaves, in case I want to make up a batch of **special** fuu-uuudge for that smarty-pants upstart, the so-called "Doctor" Mary! (In case you aren't a follower of botanicals an' such, spotted cowbane is a relative of the deadly nightshade, and packs a real deadly KICK!)

Old Poot, indeed! That addle-brained quack had best watch her backside! I don't take lightly to that kind o' slanderous talk! I may be a genteel lady an' all, but I got a few tricks up my sleeve that might raise a few eyebrows here and there. You don't have an E-vile twin sister like Sassy, without learnin' a bit o' mischief, doncha know!
