before I head out for the weekend (this is my first visit back to Mohicanland in days), a note on the following:
"...To give you a short summary, very short, Marion was the first to take up guerrilla fighting and thus turned the tide for the Americans in the war against the British..."
Perhaps on the Colonial side, but before Marion, you'd have to turn your eyes to Fort Niagara & John Butler's Loyalists Corps that were a terror on the frontiers of New York & Pennsylvania,
to Kentucky and as far west as Michigan (see link below for more on these Loyalists Rangers), and was one of the most successful partisan corps throughout that war.
Not to take away anything from Marion, but I have to give credit where credit is due.
It should also be noted that Marion's command was reinforced by "Light Horse" Harry Lee's cavalry (Robert E. Lee's father),
who had conducted guerrilla raids in and around Valley Forge, during that brutal winter, keeping Washington supplied in food,
(etc) & keeping British forces in the region off-balanced.
Look forward to hearing more about the production. :-)
for those in Mohicanland awaiting an up-date from
my "journey", I can report that I recently found &
joined with my Cherokee clan, the Wolf Clan.
