WELCOME BACK, Joy!

: I cannot help but speculate (and hope) as to what scenes may be threaded back into the film. Perhaps the infamous Uncas/Alice love scene under the falls (did we ever figure out if it was ever filmed??)

Absolutely WAS filmed, though how much of a "love scene" it actually was is still (for 85 or so days, anyway) subject to much speculation!

: or maybe the inclusion of Heyward's diversion which some of us saw during the network broadcast.

Hope so!

: In an interview, DDL referred to Ching making the prophetic observation that the whites will keep pushing west and there will be no need for men like Hawkeye. Maybe this will make the new cut.

Could be! Not sure if that speech, though, will enhance or detract. A lot will depend, I think, on Russell's delivery.

: Anyone else care to comment on their own "fantasy" scenes they would like to see included.

Well, now that you asked, I'd like to see:

The 35th's volley, filmed at Biltmore, where Soldier #2 describes this incredible, low-lying mass of smoke!

Uncas getting cut by a Huron as they reach shore at Lake James during "The Approach" would help explain a lot.

One of my favorite scenes is at the dinner table at Cameron's Cabin. Supposedly, there's more to that - stuff that aids in setting the story - that I'd hope they put in.

For the record, 20th Century Fox says "8 or 9" new scenes were added. Forward Pass Productions wasn't specific. I know one thing, I'm salivating at the prospect!
