I have to agree WHOLEHEARTEDLY here! I've always felt that Wes Studi & Madeleine Stowe were neck-in-neck as the most believable & powerful performers in LOTM. Maybe Steven Waddington would get my vote for #3. DDL, Maurice Roeves, and some of the other supporting cast falling in next. All were stellar. Schweig & Means, though good, I thought were more outstanding in the aura they created by their look and the way they carried themselves.

Stowe was perfect in all scenes, particulary in the "What are looking at, Sir?," "I have seen the face of war before ...," and, as you mentioned, in the argument with her father & Duncan, as well as the aftermath in the stockade. Very well done, I thought. So, too her performances during the battle segments, at the Huron Village, and, of course, at The Burial Ground, where she might have delivered the film's best line to perfection: "No, to the contrary. It is more deeply stirring ..."

That super job was one of the many things that immediately won me over to the film!
