: I will try to do my duty as your (temporary) replacement Chris, but make no guarantees.....old people sometimes go to bed early, or forget to do things, or get easily distracted and such.

: : This may be my last early morning post.  (Is that a collective sigh of relief I hear?)  I will be heading out into the wilderness soon and need to get packed and organized before I go.  Bill, I am turning the early morning duties over to you.  I will check when I get back to see if you have been up to the task.

: : The wilderness has been creeping into Anchorage.  We've had a grizzly bear loose in the city for the last two days.  It's been staying out of trouble, but scared the poor folks at McDonald's half to death.  One woman almost hit it as she pulled out of the drive-through exit. Hopefully, it will head out of town before it discovers garbage.  Once that happens, the bears usually wind up endangering people and often are killed.  The Fish and Game guys are trying to gently "herd" this one towards the edge of town.  Ah, that's the kind of thing that keeps life interesting up here!
