Davenie,

Hey thanks for the info! Geez, sounds like it was a real Indian Nations metropolis. Do any of them still have reserved land there? Let's see, wasnt it the Stockbridge who ran with Rogers while the Mohawk ran with Sir William Johnson? At least according to Northwest Passage anyway?

I assume the Iroqois were either pushed that far west or were relocated that far west? Thought Lake Oneida or regions south of that was the extent of the "Western Longhouse"?

Thanks for the info! Know anything about Madison?

Bill R

: Bill,

: I live in Wisconsin.

: At present, there are several main tribes in this state: Ho-Chunk (Winnebago), Potawatomi, Chippewa, Menominee, Oneida, and the Stockbridge-Munsee band Mahican. Historically, there were also the Dakota, Fox, Sauk, Kickapoo, Illinois, Oto, Iroquois, and Wyandot. I'm sure other LOTM scholars can add to this list.

: Welcome to the Midwest.
