Dear Hungry Gnome,
Why you poor starving little thing you! I do believe my great grandmama had a perfectly scrumptious recipe for Green Chicken Soup, and I do think - - - yes, YES - - here it is among my treasured family recipes. We are in luck. Let me see, chives and carrots (I have those growing in my garden); new potatoes (those are keeping down in the root cellar); mushroom broth (I daresay you can come by some fine mushrooms in the woods, skilled as you be in searching out those little delicacies); one plump green chicken, scalded - - dear me, that seems to be the only thing we have to acquire. But if we can come by all the ingredients, just imagine the meal it would make with a loaf of hot yeast bread just out of the oven with fresh dairy butter and a fine bumper of Old Frothingslosh to wash it down. And I might think about baking a blueberry pie for dessert. Would such a meal from my humble kitchen appeal to you, Dear Wee Gnome? Let's talk.
Miss Gaylee Cooper
