The sound isn't too good in these scenes, but Hawkeye is speaking about his powder being wet; which is why the guys decide to split before the Hurons arrive so as to avoid a nastier confrontation. Muzzleloaders need dry powder to fire. If you look back at the scene when the group leave their respective canoes, Cora is dragging at least one weapon in the water, but I'm sure the others got pretty darn wet, too. Cheers. Danalee

: Now for my question. The Falls scene. Why is DDL yelling at Ching about being soaking wet? I know something has probably been cut, but I thought maybe someone could shed some light on it. I poked around the archives on this, but didn't find anything. I did, however, come across something about Jo's husband, a loincloth, and a flintlock. Your husband IS a good sport,Jo!
