: Yepper! I'm addicted to the Archives! The threads concerning all of Cooper's books are great. Today I discovered a thread called Apples and Oranges started by Gayle.(1998 Archives(Part 2)) This thread deals with the characters of Alice and Cora. Neat, neat stuff. Gayle, I'm currently printing as many of your opinions and observations as I have time for. The same goes for MMMarcia, Elaine, and Pat. I think they make a great study guide. When it comes to Cooper's books, I need all the help I can get.
: Jayne, it never would have occurred to me to print out all this stuff if I hadn't read YOUR post IN THE ARCHIVES.
On behalf of the Cooperphile contingent, I thank you! Marcia keeps telling me somebody is going to find our ravings of use someday, and your delight with it all is truly gratifying!
I had forgotten all about the Apples and Oranges thread. One of the main challenges we have here in Mohicanland is playing with the apples and oranges of the books versus the movie - both plot and characters, and it's a never-ending fascination. What a neat thing to hear that something we wrote way back when has turned out to be useful - and SO glad to recognize another Cooperphile mentality in Mohicanland!
There really is a treasure trove in the Archives for any LOTM related thought, as well as for a lot of fun. Another Cooper concept - if anyone wants to figure out who the heck all these strange characters are in Mohicanland, they would have to go back through the Archives and sift out the connections much like one has to sift through Cooper's books to get the whole story on any of his characters.
The Musings are even better as a study guide. Elaine and Rich have created a university of their own there.
