: : The Old Crone is dead. Her friends carried her wattle hut and it's contents to Lake George, set it aflame and adrift, her body in it. She spoke her mind honestly and with few words. She was kind-hearted and generous. She loved everyone and was kind to all.
: : Her friends have moved on to greener meadows and clearer waters. They search for a better place where people are kind and considerate of each other.

I agree with Bill, Pat. Why? Because of a disagreement like yesterday's? Things were done, and nobody was spared. Each viewpoint was expressed, and everyone had their say. That should end it.
A sad feature of life here in Mohicanland is that things like that happen from time to time. Feelings run strong on an issue, and people feel compelled to state their viewpoints. But once a poster has made his/her feelings known, why can't we just move on to other things? I wasn't happy with some of what was said (or at least the WAY it was said) either, and I felt I needed to "say my piece." That done, I'm ready to put it behind and go on to things that interest me more, and give me more pleasure.
I wish Old Crone's wattle hut would drift back to shore, flames having been doused by a storm on the Glimmerglass, and she would open her eyes like Chief Dan George in Little Big Man, and realize that she wasn't dead, after all. She's been a fun part of Mohicanland and would be much missed if she let something like this chase her off.
As for ME, be damned if I'll go away just because I don't agree with another poster. I WILL continue to say what I think, in the politest way I know how, but I won't go away.
And today is another day, with plenty of OTHER things to talk about and share. Let's laugh yesterday off as a bad one all the way around! It happens!
