: : I'd like to put forward the suggestion that a Healing Ceremony :be performed next Gathering. Maybe it would lessen the :burdens we carry as we make our way through the wilderness. :The Iroquois called it the "Ceremony at the Woods Edge" to :heal the wounds of the traveller, to wipe away tears, to cleanse :the throat and renew oneself.

: Siyo ---

: unless you are "making up" your own "ceremony" o/r have an Iroquois (etc) who knows what they are doing, I'd be very careful of conducting any "ceremony" that you've read about in a book (etc), for you can be opening yourself up for a world of hurt.
: Our elders in the Southern Cherokee Nation take this very serious, & have warned us time & again NOT to mess with ceremonies (etc) *if* we dont know what we are doing.
: They liken it to playing with fire ;-)

: Just some friendly advice ---

Interesting advice, Champ - but Victoria has such a good idea. Champ, could we hire a professional? Just a thought.
