Hi Champ,

I wonder if your friend from the Southern Cherokee Nation has any stories to tell about his great grandfather? Let us know if you hear anything. The story of Quannah is one of the most facinating stories to come from the late 1800's. I wish his family had chronicled more of his life story or more importantly, that of his mother after her return from captivity. Many of the stories may have gone underground, as it was not "cool" to be of Native American descent at the beginning of this century.

The Best,

Ayesha
