Hi Rebecca,

"Ride the Wind" is a fictional novel, based on fact. It is a great read. I couldn't put it down. The author is Lucia St. Clair Robson. It was reading this book that started me on my quest for more knowledge about Quannah. He was the head of the Native American Church at the first part of this century and the one who brought Peyote into the chuch. He used to do "healings" for people. It is said that he got sick and died because he took money for one of his healings. I found this out, while reading a book on the history of the Native American Church.

His life story is so facinating. The book is more about his mother Cynthia Ann Parker. It is well written. There is also a book written for young adults, that sees the world from her eyes, after her return from captivity.

Here is a link to her story. I will post another link after this one.

Have a great day,

Ayesha
