Elaine:
: Isn't Loreena great? "The Highwayman" IS particularly nice. What I really like about her music is the way she draws upon so many cultural influences ... like Middle Eastern & Sacred music.
: Very inspiring.

Yes, I like her voice and her choices of song. The Highwayman is just such a nice ghost story! Lovely lyrics!

: Marcia, are you sure Penny GAVE those CDs to you????????

No, she didn't part with her CDs...just made me two tapes of her favorite songs from her collection. Lots of different artists and selections. About 4 hours worth of great music. I had tended to buy a lot of Celtic instrumentals, and it wasn't until I heard these tapes from Penny, which are mostly vocals, that I discovered that all these Celtic songs are about war, death, ghosts, people getting their body parts lopped off, and things of that nature. I guess their music is a real chronicle of their history, more or less. Another of my favorites is called King Henry, about a "grizzly ghost" (not to be confused with the ghost of a grizzly!), stomping around & yelling for "more meat!" A wild tune!
