: : Yup, like Danalee, I too am ready for the big day!!

: : However, after due consultations with 'those in the know' - and my 'financial advisor'! I have gone with the Computer DVD kit and - it is truly great!!! For 120 (roughly $180 but will likely be MUCH cheaper in America) I got the DVD ROM and Decoder card and I have to say, the quality is fantastic!! And it is multi-regional, which is very useful for me. And further down the track, for a few pounds more, I will be able to get a 'Video Capture Card' which will allow me to copy favourite video's onto disc.

: : So - here is one very happy bunny!! Roll on LOTM Day!! (Which is also Keith's birthday. I wonder if I could convince him that the DVD kit is my birthday present to him?!! Nah - he'd only want to install it in HIS computer - and I can't have that!!!!! ;0(

: : How many days is that now? 'Course it isn't ME counting. (Rich?)

: : Take care, all,
: : Kate.

: Kate, can you give us details about the manufacturer? Whose did you buy?

: Thanks mucho, and LHK,

Hi Sarah!

Well, the name on the box is 'Golden Melody' DVD Bundle kit - Pioneer x5 speed DVD ROM and Hollywood Dolby Sound decoder card- 119.95. There was a slightly cheaper one but this one was recommended and as it was much cheaper than a 'player', I felt justified in spending a little more. However, the x5 is the only MULTI region (which I wanted) however, single region can be up to x10, which is, obviously, better. However, I'm assured that the difference is minimal so I had to make a decision - BEST quality or multi-region. Well, as LOTM is not being released here in Britain this month, there really was NO contest - multi-region, without doubt!!

Just in case you want to investigate further, Sarah, if you go to:
www.scan.co.uk

you can have a look at what they have. That will maybe give you the details you need to find what you want there at home. Also, they are great at providing any info you want - I'm sure you'd find them helpful.

Hope you find what you want, Sarah!
Take care,
Love,
Kate.
