: Hi there Donna,
: Yes, I agree, some people are lucky! Would love to hear more about the weekend Ros or Petra!

: Yes, I happened in on the first 30 minutes or so of that Disney movie ("Windrunner"??? was that the title); when I went to watch the rest a day later, it was already rotated out. It was interesting to see Mr. Means, (which is why I watched it also), even if he only had about 30 seconds or so of airtime at that point. Don't know if it will be on again, or if he has any other movies; some make a habit of reading the TV guide so I'm sure they'd let us know....if it does rotate on again, I'll post it.

Hi Donna and Jo,

yes, thinking of that evening makes me smile too... :) Sitting at Chili's and discussing politics and the world in general, we must have been a rather unusual little group. At first, at the university, I felt a little like talking to a legend. (Already when I was a teenager, Russell Means' name was very much known among my classmates and some of my teachers in Europe.) But once we were chatting at the restaurant, it didn't seem like that any more. After all, talking politics over good food is one of the most enjoyable things by my taste. I for one, heard nothing about movies or shows, I don't think we talked about that topic.

At the university, there had been a press conference with many different topics touched upon, depending on the questions asked. I missed the first ten minutes (even though I had run out of the office heads over heels and drove up to Flag like a maniac). But yes (referring to a conversation here a few months ago), I managed to throw in the question how he sees his court case with the Navajo Nation in the context of tribal sovereignty and jurisdiction, and his answer basically was that there is presently no sovereignty.
After that, there was an hour for him to sign books and he took the time to chat with everyone. During that hour, I also had the pleasure of meeting some of Ros' wonderful friends and students, and I enjoyed talking to them immensely.
Then, Russell gave his presentation and more people arrived. But first, Ros presented an excellent and touching introduction of Russell Means, and he was obviously moved by it and remarked that he couldn't top that. The rest I will leave to her, as I'm sure she will report that so much better than I ever could...

Petra
