As a note of encouragement for those in a bind over this DVD situation, I checked out my local Blockbuster Video store (thanks for the suggestion, Rich) and they rent DVD players for $14.95 for FIVE evenings. (You have to leave a $150 deposit, cash or credit card, refundable upon return of undamaged player.)

I don't think I have the capability to tape the DVD, but I can sure watch it for five nights, and then I can at least discuss the new scenes with others. I'm hoping to get a DVD player for Christmas, so this will tide me over until then. Or, if I can't wait, I can rent the player again! ;o)
