Well, Doc M lives in an area of Western Pennsylvania that is
lousy with history -- also strip malls and Burger Kings, but
you can't have everything. The coolest thing that's near me
is an old country road that was part of the Venango Indian
trail -- George Washington traveled on it with a scout named
Christopher Gist to deliver dispatches from the British to
the French troops who were camped around Erie. Of course this
whole area was a wilderness back in those days. There is one
log cabin that I know of around here that survived from that
era, called the Cooper Cabin oddly enough. It's maintained by
the local historical society and come the spring thaw I'll trek
out there and take some pictures of it.

There are a couple of beautiful old houses left that were taverns
back in Revolutionary War times ... now how do you suppose
Doctor M came across THEM? Heh heh heh. If you get off the
main roads here and drive around the back country you'll still
find areas of beautiful rolling wooded hills and pastureland
with the foothills of the Alleghenies in the distance -- gives
you a slight idea how beautiful it was back then.

Doc M...born in the wrong time period for sure.
