: Kate, how wonderful! I lived in Falkirk, Stirlingshire in the early 70s and being a history buff felt I was in heaven! Hadrian's wall ran through the neighborhood and I had the old roman aquaducts and Linlithgow Palace when I moved to Mid-Lothian. I miss Scotland--even the part where I had to bring the car battery in at night during the winter and plug in to keep a charge! from Danalee, now back in California and hating it!

Thanks Danalee! (Sorry to take so long in replying - been in bed with migraine! Yuk!)
Yes, Falkirk is really handy to loads of historically interesting things! You are so handy to Glasgow and Edinburgh too. I just LOVE Edinburgh and it's history!! I particularly love the statue to 'Greyfriars Bobby' and thinking of him still makes me cry! But the city is just one big history lesson, with John Knox's home, the Tolbooth, Edinburgh castle. Yeah, for someone interested in history, Scotland can't be beat!

(as for the car battery - we've had to do that many a time, too! But then, we had to do it in Canada and Germany too! :0)

Take care, Danalee
Kate.
