I do miss the exchange between Hawkeye and Duncan (disagreement) I loved the look in Hawkeye's face.
I think saying something different might have fit in better for the time. I may just be overexposed to the same lines being used in so many movies of today. Like Rich said - similar words were used in the 1936 version.
: While I can see that the line about nothing better to do on the lake is a bit flippant, I definitely feel the serious disagreement line is important. That and the long look exchanged at that point are pivotal in establishing the real conflict between Hawkeye & Duncan, in my mind. I don't find anything 90ish about that line at all, and it does do an excellent job of foreshadowing. But that's just my preference. I hate that moment being gone.
: And yes, I saw the red-shirt guy and the moving musket...but what's all this about a diver in the water? When? How? Can that be seen in the THX? And why in the world wouldn't they have fixed those bloopers when they had the chance?
I've read somewhere that's their suppose to be a diver in the
water after they jump through the waterfall. I've never seen it.
Yes, I'm "very" surprised they didn't fix all the bloopers.
I guess he figures most people won't notice the quick ones.
: As for the sound issues, I imagine when the movie is played with the proper settings, that will be better, but I still don't understand why the dialog was so much louder than anything in the background. I wonder if the proper settings will fix that? You can see how ignorant I am of DVD players.
It says at the beginning it depends on the capabilities of your
computer or player. I think mine plays pretty good. It's a 450mhz, 10G8 hard drive, and a 6X speed dvd - computer.
