According to some of the reviews here on the Board, the Director's Cut is something of a disappointment. I guess I'll have to wait til I get a chance to actually see it before offering an opinion about what has been left out, or put in. But, now I'm not in such a big hurry to see it. ....Hey Kathy:.....Just because LOTM/DVD is a dissappointment doesn't mean you shouldn't buy a DVD player... DVD is soooooo much better in picture quality and sound to VHS(...or do you own Beta!!!) I for one will never buy a VHS tape again!!!!
...So go out and get one anyway....
