Sounds like it had an emotional pull to it.

: Rich, when I read the speech in the script, I thought it WAY too wordy, also, and when I saw it on the dvd, I felt exactly the same. To me, it is redundant...a recapping of the film that just isn't necessary, when Chingachgook's eloquently sad face expressed it all so much better. It sounds too PC for my taste. But now we have it BOTH ways, so I guess we can choose the ending we prefer, eh?

: I, too, am very regretful about that lopped out Doctor Mary scene. What Doc M didn't mention was that the ORIGINAL scene was shot showing her shoving Capable Cora to her doom, and then that scene was followed by one showing Mighty Mohican Mama Marcia throttling the good doctor & hastily disposing of HER remains before Hawkeye the Hunk-O-Licious made his way back down the cliff. It was, indeed, a powerful moment which would have made film history, sartain!

Hey Marcia,

Is it true that you were Cora's stand-in for all the hugging and kissing parts? That Madeline just couldn't get it right, and your contract was VERY clear on when you were to be dubbed in?
