: Having not been anywhere near this website in almost two years :(   I happened upon MohicanPress one day, to see the note of the DVD re-release.  As excited as everyone else, I greatly anticipated the extra footage, which to ME, meant the missing love scene between Uncas and Alice.  (*sigh*)  Alas, it wasn't meant to be.  Before I posted this note, I did read the two reviews.  All right, all right, you have a point, Michael Mann DID expand, by one or two lines, Jack, Colonel Munro, et al.  I did, however, notice the disappearance of the stingers muttered by Hawkeye, and I was disappointed.  GREATLY disappointed.  Yes, the color and the cinematography was more outstanding, as I've yet to see it on the large screen, and my li'l THX video does NOTHING compared to the digital clarity of DVD.  But... it's obvious I wanted more.  Yep, Clannad was nowhere to be heard, yep, the soundtrack was toned down to hear the surround sound of battle (that was cool!), I don't know.  I KNOW in my heart that LOTM will become a member of our DVD household, but I'm depressed that I have to keep the THX videocassette.  And WHERE was the options?  No expanding on the Cast list?  No option to check out the trailers?  JUST Language, Play Movie, the Cast, and Scene Selection?  I'm sorry, what a ripoff!  For that amount of money, I have bought lesser films with more options and lower cost of DVD (ie, THE MATRIX, THE PRINCE OF EGYPT).  Whew!!  Thank you for letting me vent.  I still have this website listed right at the top of my Favorites, I still love this movie (have you met anyone who doesn't?), but I think in time, I'll get (*sob*) over this.  :(
