: Clabert, you're a lifesaver! Again, you've outdone yourself. As far as Alexandria being pregnant, I personally don't think so. Granted, I haven't seen the DVD, and my 19" TV hardly does anything justice, but a "thicker waistline" may have been somewhat of a necessity on the frontier. These women worked their butts off just to survive, and some muscle would have certainly accumulated. On the other hand, having children certainly took part of the workload off the parents' shoulders, so maybe she was. It would seem to me, however, that if she was, it was probably an accident. By which I mean, the actress herself was pregnant and it showed up a little in the movie. If Michael Mann had wanted to portray a pregnant woman, chances are he would have portrayed a nine-months-pregnant woman, for dramatic effect. It would make the "Ottawa, two Francais" seem even more evil.

: Thanks again, Clabert. You're my hero.

I take it back, Alexandria does in fact look pregnant. And, from what I hear, rightfully so. You can sort of see it when she is on the porch, greeting the visitors, but it really got me when she is in the background at the fireplace. Watch her, just as Hawkeye says "What is it, Jack, what brings you here?" She might be just putting something in her pocket, but it looks a lot like that characteristic pregnant-woman tummy-rub. Watch, and you'll see what I'm talking about. So, that's it. I'm taking my foot out of my mouth now. Never knew I was that flexible!

Painfully and with pulled muscles,
Parker
