Hi Donna and Ayesha!

Happy New Year to you!! I had the interesting experience of calling my brother who lives in New Zealand. By the time I got around to him, it was past the dawning of the new millenium and into lunch-time!!! But I will say, as immune as I had become to all the hype, I had chills down my back talking to him, in the future. Not just any future, like any other year, nor even like the turn of the century, but it really WAS the turn of a millenium, in terms of the count of years. A thousand-year numerical difference (the 1900s versus the 2000s). It got me, I have to say! It's been one of the few moments I've been glad he lives in NZ!

The "one world" thing really came through, didn't it? With each time zone, saying, "We're all OK here. Everything OK there?" A wonderful event!! And WE were there! Whew!!!

See you soon,
LHK,
Sarah M.

: Hi Donna,

: Thanks for sharing your story. I'm glad to hear that someone else enjoyed the Millenium event via media.

: It was quite exciting! I think the people in Seattle had the biggest let down! They had put so many restrictions up, that most people did not even venture out! I got a little bit "teary eyed" at some of the world wide events. Ya know, it was the "One World, One People" aspect of it that was so overwhelmingly beautiful! We video taped the whole extravaganza, just in case I have grandchildren to share it with!

: Blessings,

: Ayesha

: : Yes, I watched CNN and Mountain Lake, and NBC to catch all the
: : celebrations all over the world. That was great. I wish they'd
: : do that every year. It's such a teaser though. I wanted to see
: : more at each place but of course they had to keep jumping around.
: : Talk about an awesome task. Someday I'd like to be part of a
: : large crowd like that. The Effiel Tower show was great! It was
: : wonderful how each country lit up one of their national landmarks.
: : Moscow was beautiful. I want to travel the world!
: : Even the island nations were something special.
: : I enjoyed all of it. It was kinda depressing here in my small
: : town. Looked like every other night here.
: : Have a great year to all!
: : Donna
