That's too funny, I was just having that very fantasy this morning!! :) I mean, if they can stick that hokey ending on the original masterpiece, they certainly shouldn't be above doing a sequel!!! :) (apologies to those who love the new ending)

Me: : The more I watch this film, the more impressed I am with his performance. I harken back to what Randy Edelman said as quoted in the MP music pages, about Hawkeye being so incredibly different from the way DDL is in real life, physically, emotionally, movement-wise, voice-wise, expression-wise. I'm just amazed. As you and I have both observed before, that man is probably the best actor alive today, and better than many of the classics too!

MMMM: >>You certainly won't get any argument from me in THIS regard! I have known for years he's the best around. And I sorely miss his presence on the big screen! Shouldn't he be "'bout done" playing house by now, and be ready to resume his rightful place in the film world?

Oh, yes! I think he should be 'bout done holdin' hands with Mrs. Day Lewis! Maybe they'll do a project together...but those husband/wife things usually wind up being god-awful. I guess we won't wish for that. I just hope marriage hasn't soothed his savage breast to the extent that he hasn't the fire to act any more!!!!!!!!!!

Actually, I just want more Hawkeye right now! Man oh man whatta Man! My ideal man.

"There he is, Natty Bu-umppo!
There he is, My ideal!"

Can't you just see him strutting his stuff on the runway in Atlantic City?

Seriously, I can't think of a more perfect man! I can't even say Uncas rivals him, because they just didn't give us enough of Uncas to really tell what he was like. I think I'm converted back from Uncasmania to Hawkeyemania.

Love,
Myrrh
