: : : : : : Happy New Year, MohicanLand!  Wow!  It is so nice to see things getting closer to being back to normal on the board.  My thoughts have been with all of you. I am looking forward with great anticipation to this new year.  Gathering seems painfully distant.  Fortunately, we still have the 'Deerslayer' discussions to look forward to, as well as, the Horseman (just got my copy!).  Also, to tide me over 'til Gathering, I have 'On the Trail( wooooohooooo!)and many new, wonderful, nice, smart, informative, kind, funny, entertaining and helpful friends to email.

: : : : : : BTW, Jo, I made a great trade with Sassy as she was on her way home from Bumppo's.  It's a sling for throwing popcorn from the back row at Gathering.  Fancy one it is, too.  Black with white ribbon and silver...:)

: : : : Well, Clabert, I appreciate the simple things in life.  A canoe ride would be a fine trade as far as I'M concerned.  Howsever, I'm afraid I can't trade without taking my fellow Bumppo girls into condideration.  We are a loyal lot ( except for Doc Mary...we HAVE to be nice to her), and I sense a distict advantage here.  If I have learned ANYTHING from Doc M, it is to press ones advantage when ever one can.

: : :  Mon cher ami, I would be the first to admit to the great value of this "sling" but this trade you talk of involves more persons then were at Bumpo`s. The canoe ride is a done deal but I must warn you mon cher. You may wish to produce a few more trade items before we are done, no? As for the other trade goods. Would a bottle of peach brandy be alright? Maybe I should bring it on the canoe ride? I found a very nice silver tray in a large open field just a couple days after Montcalm let the English leave the fort. The ham and cheese not so much a problem but the croissants, chocolate and almonds may be. That which I found on the battle field was not fit to eat but I will do the best I can.
