Morning ...

Not much of an update here, and nothing new on the Site ... Not that we didn't have stuff to put up, we just didn't find the time this week. It'll all have to wait till next.

Meanwhile, just a few little things:

Anyone seen the cover of "Latina" magazine??? (Feb. issue) If that's not a young Madeleine Stowe look-alike staring out at you! I had to look several times before realizing it wasn't her.

Remember last week I mentioned 4 Mohicanites that I knew of who were down & out due to computer woes? Well, PP is back, MMMM is halfway back, Champ has been heard from, at least ... the 4th escaped my memory at the time. That would be Soldier #2 who's CPU is shot & being repaired.

The Gathering 2000 packages, including the Biltmore, Chimney Rock Park, and the optional lodging arrangements, ought to be finalized in just about a week. We'll then be offering them to you. So, figure 2 weeks, maximum, before you'll be able to finally sign on! Start breaking the piggy banks! If this deal goes through, it will involve group cabins ... some for large groups (10), others for smaller groups (4 & 6), plus a cabin(s) for the Trading Post and/or Exhibits/Raffles. Plain ole camping will also be available at this location. So, if your choice is a more private motel setting, you probably won't choose this option which is intended to replace The Bunkhouse. We will have a listing of some possible choices for you posted on the 2000 Gathering page at that time.

Been playing with the aforementioned Board Photo Gallery ... We've got an accumulation of photos, many already having been seen by you via links to messages, that we are putting together on a page. We know of several that the sender would NOT want published on the Web, for one reason or another. By & large though, I wouldn't imagine many objections. If you've sent us stuff and DON'T want it to be included, please do let us know.

A movie on George Washington upcoming on A&E TV:

Monday -- 01/10/2000
8:00/5:00 The Crossing. Movie. George Washington and his ragtag band of
troops cross the icy Delaware River on Christmas night 1776 to attack the
British Army's German mercenaries, the Hessians. Jeff Daniels stars as the
heroic Washington desperate to gamble to turn the tide of the American
Revolution. With Roger Rees. Teleplay by Howard Fast. (1999) (cc) [TV PG-V] ... Repeats at 10PM/7PM

As for posting links (JO???) ... Fill out all the required fields as you do normally. Then, in addition, in the field that says, "Optional Link URL," type the complete & exact URL you wish to link to. It MUST begin with: http://
EXAMPLE: http://www.mohicanpress.com/mo02001.html
Now, in the field that says, "Link Title," type in a name, of your choosing, for this link. This is what a reader will see and click on. EXAMPLE: The above link could read, "2000 Great Mohican Gathering." It's very easy if you know the URL. Be careful not to reverse the two fields. If you do, nothing appears. The FIRST line is the LINK URL. The SECOND line is for your chosen LINK NAME, and can be anything. When you click on the "Preview Message" button, your proposed message appears as it will on the Board, link included. If the link does NOT appear, you did something wrong. Click your browser's "Back" button & find your mistake!!! OK?? The third field is for linking an image (.jpg or .gif) to your message. The image MUST be out there, on the Internet, SOMEWHERE for it to be able to appear, of course. Then type in its URL.
EXAMPLE: http://www.mohicanpress.com/vista2.jpg
That, had I typed it in the "Optional Image URL" field, would have linked the background vista image we use on our opening page to this message. Clear it up any??

DVD report: Results still somewhat sparse, but those "satisfied" with the DVD lead those "unsatisfied" 61% to 39%. Most of those "satisfied" are VERY satisfied, most of those "unsatisfied" are only SOMEWHAT unsatisfied.

Till next time ...
