Even better, PP -- it's a trade paperback and available
from amazon.com for $16.95 I think. One last thing about
Ft. William Henry which my senile old mind just remembered --
a good friend of mine had a relative -- named Nathaniel,
of all things -- who barely escaped with his scalp from
the massacre. He ended up running nekkid as a jaybird
through the woods -- probably the same "12 miles cross
country" that Hawkeye mentioned -- until he reached
another fort. Later on he became extremely wealthy and
and owned a large area of land just outside of Boston --
which nowadays is part of Boston, near Brighton I think.

PP and Goody Sandy -- have either one of you visited
the memorial for the 19 innocent people hanged as
witches in Salem? NOT the tacky Witch Museum -- this
is a lovely little garden with stone benches, each
bearing the name of one of the accused. I'm told
during the solstices people leave flowers and burn
candles on the benches, which I think is neat.
