: I know that this isn't The Witches Vox site. It just hits home to me that--I go by the name Pilgrim Penny sort of as a nod to history. However, if I were actually from that time, with my belief system the way it is, I would long ago have been killed. And I have experienced the prejudice that I spoke of first-hand. I believe that all religions are valid, and because I choose to revere nature and the female ascpect of life, that doesn't mean that I am evil or that I feel everyone should have the same spiritual ways that I follow. As long as our beliefs make us better human beings and treat the earth and each other with respect--that is what truly matters. Thanks for letting me have my say and letting me feel comfortable here. Love to all--PP

>>And thanks to YOU, Pilgrim Penny, for once again reminding us all of what's REALLY important. I, too, feel strongly that what counts is not what we believe or don't believe, but how we live our lives and treat our fellow travelers along the way. I have long been interested in religions and philosophies that follow the natural order of things, the Circle of Life, as it were. I found this discussion of Wytches quite interesting, and though I don't want to get into a religious debate here, I'd like to say that knowing a bit about what OTHER people believe always helps build tolerance and understanding.

While I think the American people, as a whole, are moving towards an enlightened attitude in this regard, there are still too many people who refuse to let go of their fear, hatred, and ignorance about anyone who is different from the "mainstream." Let us all do our part in our own lives to promote respect and tolerance for all belief systems and life styles. (Assuming, of course, that one's Belief System or Life Style doesn't include barbecuing the neighbors or clearcutting a stand of virgin timber to make room for the Annual "Dance Naked Around a Pile of Grapefruit" Feast!!)
