: : :
: : : : PP and Goody Sandy -- have either one of you visited
: : : : the memorial for the 19 innocent people hanged as
: : : : witches in Salem? NOT the tacky Witch Museum -- this
: : : : is a lovely little garden with stone benches, each
: : : : bearing the name of one of the accused. I'm told
: : : : during the solstices people leave flowers and burn
: : : : candles on the benches, which I think is neat.

: : : I would love to visit this memorial some day, Doc.
: : : The Witch Museum is tacky, is it? If I ever get there, I'll take that in, too, tacky or not...fascinated by the whole scene.
: : : You live near there, Doc?

: : : Myrrh

: : Wish I did. *sigh* Maybe someday. Some good friends of mine
: : live around there and when I visited them we went there.
: : And yes, the Witch Museum is truely tackamundo, but I liked
: : it anyway, even though my friends refused on the grounds
: : of good taste to go in with me. The Peabody-Essex museum
: : is THE place to go, though -- it has the original documents
: : from the 1692 trials. There's also a log cabin you can
: : see from that time period. Danvers, which is right next to
: : Salem, was originally called Salem Village, and that's
: : actually where all the accused people lived. According
: : to the guide books I read, a few of their houses are still
: : standing -- Rebecca Nurse's for one, and John Procter's
: : as well. When I go back in the spring we're going to try
: : to see them.

: Gee Doc, if'n you DO go back for a visit aren't you afraid Cotton Mather would recognize you and arrest you? *snork snork chuckle*

: Oh! Oh! What was that Disney movie...with Bett Midler? Spellbound? And what was it that zombie said to her after he cut the stitches keeping his mouth shut???? Same to YOU Doc!!

: Bwa ha ha ha *scampering to hollow tree*

: GnomeDome

Hmmmm. Look at that funny-looking teenie-weenie toad
the red hat on, hopping frantically towards that hollow
tree! What's he saying, waving his tiny warty front legs?
"I'm...silly?" No! "I'm BILLY!" What odd things one
sees in the forest these days. *snark! snark!*
