: : "Mike Phillips died on September 15 at the age of 69.
: : He left 4 children and seven grandchildren.
: : He will be missed."

: : We will, of course, update our interview pages with MP but thought it should be posted here first.

: : Elaine

: Yes, he WILL be missed ... Mike Phillips was a man of great wisdom & generosity. He was filled with life ... filled with love ... so VERY proud of who he was, yet so very open to all he encountered.

: As Elaine has mentioned, we had been notified, via e-mail, of his death, some time ago ... As we were unable to confirm this, we refused to believe it. I feel a terrible loss, though he only entered my life for a few minutes on the screen & a few hours on the phone. I think we made it clear, at the time of our interview, what a true pleasure it was to get to know him a bit. I feel honored now that he gave us all what were to be some of the last hours of his life.

: Yes, "He will be missed."

Yes, I feel so very much like you..As you know the late Mike and I corresponded off and on. He definitely was one the wisest people I have ever come across..he had so much to offer and did so generously..As a matter of fact he had sent me huge package with his pictures and writings at springtime.I will make sure to put them up at the appropriate time..
I just got off the phone with Mike's son and offered him my condolences.According to him,his death came as a surprise. Mike was undergoing backsurgery and his heart stopped during that operation. The doctors tried a bypass..but for naught..Our beloved Sachem never woke up.
I will miss him terrribly..

Rebecca
